About us



We offer consulting services to organizations in higher education, public administration, non-profit organizations. In addition, our organization offers training in self-defense and firearms instruction. We have expertise in IPEDS, state reports for three different states (TX, Washington and West Virginia), operational areas of Institutional Research, Assessment, Accreditation (SACSCOC, HLC, Pacific Northwest), Human Resources Information Systems, data warehouses for reporting and enterprise systems (PeopleSoft, BANNER, etc.). We can train organizations in self-defense and firearms instruction as well.

Trident 3J, L.L.C., specializes in higher education, public organizations and non-profit organizations. The comapny can also offer services to private organizations in organizational analysis, organzational culture evaluation and leadership. For higher education, the company specializes in institutional research for IPEDS and state reporting, enterprise systems, data warehouse solutions, audits/investigations, facility information, return on investment, business intelligence dashboards, assessment and accrediation. For public and non-profit organizations the company also has expertise in a wide variety of operational areas. Additionally, the company does have expertise and experience with Hazardous Materials policies and procedures in regard to the Bioterriorism Presparedness Act and the Infrastructure Protection Act.




Security Consulting



Trident 3J, L.L.C. can give security consultation to individuals and organizations regarding physical security, threat management, and disaster management. It is valuable to both protect from threats and mitigate those same threats. .

Self-Defense Training



Trident 3J, L.L.C. does offer self-defense training for public, non-profit and private organziations. The company has expertise in different martial arts backgrounds, which allows the company to train employees in organzations for self-defense to protect themselves in an emergency situation. ​



Firearms Training



Trident 3J, L.L.C. can conduct firearms and tactics training to individuals and groups. The training can be tailored to the customers’ needs, along with training plans and equipment consultation. The ultimate goal is to provide the highest quality training in a safe and productive manner.

Meet the Team



Our senior leadership team is very season and experienced in different areas of operation Trident 3J, L.L.C., offers services for consulting or contracting for organizations. In addition to our senior leadership team, we employ different contractors based on the area of speciality required by the client for a particular contract or training requirement.



Nicolas Valcik



President and Chief executive Officer



Dr. Valcik has worked in higher education as an administrator, instructor and researcher since 1997. Prior to that, Dr. Valcik worked in public municipalities and for NORTEL Networks. Dr. Valcik received his Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Texas at Dallas, his MPA from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1996 and his B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1994. Dr. Valcik is a Nidan in Kodokan Judo and a Nidan in Heike Ryu Jiu Jitsu. Dr. Valcik has been a member of the United States National Kata Team and represented the United States in Guadalajara, Mexico in the Pan American Kata Championship 2023, Bogota, Columbia in the Pan American Kata Championship 2024 and the World Kata Championship in Las Vegas 2024. Dr. Valcik competed in ISSF Pistol events, Rapid Fire, Center Fire, Standard Pistol, Free Pistol and Air Pistol from 1989 - 2022. Dr. Valcik competed in Collegiate Nationals in 1991 in Free Pistol and has competed in Preliminary Tryouts - Olympic throughout those years.




Erik Herb



Vice President



Erik is a US Army/Army National Guard combat veteran, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, with 15 years of service. Erik is also a veteran Police Officer, serving in Patrol, SWAT, and Instructor capacities. He holds certifications as NRA Law Enforcement firearms Instructor in multiple disciplines, SWAT Instructor, Shoot house Instructor, Taser Instructor, and Combatives Instructor. Erik has years of experience in the areas of firearms instruction and Combatives instruction. He also has experience in competitive shooting, Martial Arts, and Gunsmithing/armorer work. He holds several armorer certifications through a series of firearm manufacturers. He is also a high-level graduate of The Glock Operator Course and The Glock Instructor Course. Erik is a native of Pottsville, PA and earned a BA in Criminal Justice Administration from Alvernia University.



Atteeb Javed



treasurer



Atteeb is a student in cybersecurity and has experience in programming and web development. He is a Shodan in Kodokan Judo and a Shodan in Heike Ryu Jiu Jitsu. He has been a member of the United States National Kata Team and Represented the United States in Bogota, Columbia in the Pan American Kata Championship 2024.
